Pelmets come in all shapes and sizes – we have made them all! Softly gathered pelmets are generally made with a pencil, pinch pleat or box pleat heading and can be hung from a valance rail or secured to a pelmet board.
Hard pelmets are made by covering plywood with wadding and then a face fabric. They are secured by fixing a pelmet board to your wall. Pelmets can be straight and simple or add a shaped edge for a more grand or dramatic effect!
Pelmets add a layer of sophistication to your room and can elevate your finished look to a new level. Why not consider adding a trim or border to finish your pelmet or perhaps create interest with some stud detailing.
On some occasions, we use a pelmet to cover a roller blind to provide a softer more finished look in a fabric that forms part of the decor of the room. The pelmet will hide the unattractive roller blind mechanisms.
